Supervisory Board & Board of Directors

KLM's general management is in the hands of its Executive Committee (Excom). This comprises the statutory managing directors and eight executive vice presidents of KLM's business units. The statutory managing directors - Chief Executive Officer Peter Hartman, Chief Financial Director Frédéric Gagey and Managing Director Jan Ernst de Groot - bear statutory responsibility for KLM and its policies.

The Supervisory Board - which monitors the statutory managing directors - comprises Kees Storm (chairman), Henri Martre (vice-chairman), Irene Asscher-Vonk, Jean-Didier Blanchet, Jean Peyrelevade, Henri Guillaume, Wim Kok, Remmert Laan, and Hans Smits.

As an independent airline, KLM takes part - along with Air France - in the management of the AIR FRANCE KLM holding company through its Group Executive Committee, which focuses on such group-related subjects as strategy, finance, commerce, technology, IT, procurement, and fleet development. The GEC has eleven members, including Leo van Wijk as vice-chairman of AIR FRANCE KLM's Board of Managing Directors, and Peter Hartman as KLM's President & CEO. The GEC sets and monitors the strategic course for AIR FRANCE KLM. The committee is headed by Jean-Cyril Spinetta of Air France.
