KLM appoints Barbara van Koppen

On September 1, 2005 Barbara C.P. van Koppen will assume the position of Company Secretary at KLM Royal Dutch Airlines.
Ms. Van Koppen (39) has been working at KLM since 1996. Having worked previously in various positions within the company, she has had the role of Deputy Company Secretary since August of 2004.In her post as Company Secretary, she succeeds Jan Ernst C. de Groot. Earlier this year, Mr. De Groot (42) was appointed to the new function of Executive Vice President, Corporate Center and member of KLM's Executive Committee. In his new position, he will play a coordinating role within the company's Corporate Center. He will remain responsible for the Government & Industry Affairs and Legal Affairs departments and for the General Secretariat.
