KLM increases fuel surcharge on long-haul flights

Amstelveen – 2006-12-04

In response to soaring fuel prices, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines will increase its fuel surcharge by EUR 5 per stretch on all long-haul (intercontinental) flights.

This increase, imposed on tickets issued as of April 15, 2006, will be withdrawn as soon as the barrel price drops below USD 65 for 30 consecutive days.

With this latest increase the fuel surcharge will amount to EUR 45 per stretch within the intercontinental network. A surcharge will not be adjusted on European routes, which means that within Europe the fuel surcharge will remain EUR 15 per stretch.
